Uniqueness Engine
Acceptable-Use Policy
Version 0.1-beta · Effective July 5, 2026
Accepting this policy is a condition of using Uniqueness Engine. It is
part of the Terms of Use and read alongside the
Privacy Notice. We can suspend or terminate
access for any violation, immediately and without refund.
1. Who may use it
-
You must be 18+, using the service for a legitimate business purpose
on behalf of an organization, in a jurisdiction where this is lawful.
-
Your API key is personal to you; don't share, resell, or transfer it.
2. What the service is for
Researching business professionals to personalize legitimate B2B
outreach and relationship-building. That's the whole permitted purpose.
Anything below is out of bounds.
3. Prohibited uses — you will NOT use Uniqueness Engine to:
-
Make or influence eligibility decisions about employment,
credit, lending, insurance, housing, tenancy, education, healthcare,
or public benefits, or any other FCRA-covered or similar purpose.
Briefs are not consumer reports and we are not a consumer reporting
agency.
-
Target, profile, or infer protected characteristics (race,
ethnicity, religion, national origin, gender/sex, sexual orientation,
disability, health, pregnancy, age, veteran status, union/political
affiliation) — or use the service to discriminate.
-
Look up private individuals, minors (under 18), public
figures/celebrities for novelty, or people in your personal life
(ex-partners, family, acquaintances). This is a B2B tool for business
contacts, not a personal-search engine.
-
Stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, dox, defame, blackmail, or
endanger
anyone, or facilitate someone else doing so.
- Infer or surface sensitive personal information for targeting.
-
Resell, redistribute, publish, or build a competing dataset from
briefs or their contents.
-
Bulk-enrich, scrape, crawl, or automate beyond your rate limits, or
circumvent access, rate-limit, or security controls.
-
Violate any law, third-party rights, or the terms of any source or
platform; or use the service in a way that could subject us to
liability or regulatory action.
4. Your responsibilities
-
You are the controller of how you use briefs — responsible for
a lawful basis for your outreach, honoring recipients' preferences
(CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CASL, TCPA, etc. as applicable), and independently
verifying any fact before you rely on or act on it.
-
Report bad data. If a brief is wrong or about the wrong person,
tell us at /data-request or
privacy@uniquenessengine.com. If a subject asks you to stop, stop.
-
Cooperate with data-subject requests routed to you as the controller.
5. Accuracy & no warranty
Briefs are AI-assembled from public sources and may be incomplete,
outdated, or wrong. The service is provided "as is" during beta, without
warranties. Don't use it for anything where an error causes real-world
harm to a person.
6. Enforcement & monitoring
During beta we log queries and outputs to detect abuse and improve
quality (see the Privacy Notice). We may review,
throttle, suspend, or revoke access, and report unlawful activity to
authorities.
